Entry Into the United States

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Passport: must be valid at least 6 months beyond your intended stay.

ESTA [for countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program]: you can apply any time before traveling and must apply 72-hours before departure; application fee is $40.

Visitor Visa [for countries not in the Visa Waiver Program]: you must apply for and be granted a non-immigrant Visitor Visa before your trip. You are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Customs Declaration Form: this can be completed electronically in advance of your trip or in paper form at the airport.

ENTRY PROCESS

When booking your flight, ensure you allow at least 2-3 hours to get through immigration and customs at your point of entry. Check estimated wait times at various airports here.

Once you clear customs, you will go through TSA Security Screening and then proceed to your connecting flight.

Upon arrival in the U.S. you will go through Immigration and Customs + Border Protection.
